Description
XS_Scuba MA290 Gauge_Reader Mask
This XS_Scuba MA290 Gauge_Reader Mask allows you to easily read your SPG whilst underwater! The unique glass to glass bond allows the +1.75 positive diopter lenses to slant back and downward, the ideal position for reading instrumentation, looking at camera settings or writing on slates. This gauge mask comes with a mask storage box.
They are designed to make it easier for divers to read gauges, dive computers, or other small text or instruments without needing glasses or contact lenses.
It provides clear magnification without the need for glasses or contact lenses, offering convenience, comfort, and safety during dives. Whether you need to read dive computers, pressure gauges, or dive tables, a reader lens mask ensures you can see everything clearly.
Key Features of other Reader Lens / or Corrective lens Mask:
1. Magnifying Lenses:
The primary feature of a reader lens mask is the inclusion of magnifying lenses in the mask’s lens area. These lenses come in different diopter strengths, typically ranging from +1.0 to +3.0, depending on the level of magnification required by the diver
2. Convenience for Reading Small Text:
Diver’s gauges, dive computers, and other instruments often have small numbers or text that can be difficult to read underwater. A reader lens mask provides magnification to make reading these instruments much easier and clearer. This allows divers to monitor their depth, remaining air, dive time, and other important data without straining their eyes.
3. Customisable Vision:
Some reader lens masks allow for lenses to be swapped out to accommodate different prescriptions or magnification levels. If a diver only needs reading lenses in one eye, they can usually select a mask with a single magnifying lens or choose different lenses for each eye.
4. Comfort and Safety:
For divers who typically need reading glasses, using a reader lens mask eliminates the need for glasses or contact lenses underwater, which can be uncomfortable or risky (e.g., losing a contact lens). This ensures a safer and more comfortable diving experience.
5. No Need for Additional Magnifiers:
A reader lens mask helps you avoid carrying extra magnifying tools, such as handheld magnifiers, to read gauges or instruments. Everything you need to see clearly is built directly into the mask.
6. Affordable and Convenient Option:
Reader lens masks are a relatively cost-effective option for divers who only need magnification for reading small items or gauges. They offer a quick and easy solution without needing to order custom prescription lenses.
Types of Reader Lens Masks:
-
Pre-Made Reader Lens Masks:
- These masks come with pre-installed magnifying lenses at a fixed strength (e.g., +1.5 or +2.0). They are generally more affordable and ready to use right out of the box. You can find these masks with a variety of lens shapes and styles, often designed for general-purpose diving.
-
Customisable Reader Lens Masks:
- Some diving mask brands offer the option to insert customisable reader lenses based on your specific needs. You can select the strength and number of lenses (single or dual lenses), which makes the mask more flexible for people with different levels of vision correction. Speak with us for more information.
-
Stick-On Lenses:
- There are also stick-on lenses available for certain mask models. These lenses can be applied directly to the inside of the mask to magnify the central part of the lens area. While not as permanent as built-in lenses, they offer an easy, customisable solution.
