Description
Seafrogs Camera Arm YS
This Seafrogs Camera Arm YS is a accessory for underwater photographers seeking dependable, flexible control over their lighting gear. It’s designed to connect standard 1-inch ball clamps to industry-standard YS-mount strobes and video lights.
Size & Application Guide
- 2″, 3″, and 3.5″ Arms (Macro Specialist):
- Macro and close-up photography.
- Keeps your strobes tucked in tight to the housing, preventing snagging in tight coral crevices or strong currents.
- Very limited positioning range; too short to push strobes out wide for reef scenes.
- 5.5″ and 6″ Arms (The Versatile All-Rounder):
- General diving, macro, and mid-sized subjects.
- The popular “sweet spot” length that gives you just enough reach to pull strobes back for macro or push them slightly forward for small reef scenes without feeling overly bulky.
- 7″ and 8″ Arms (Wide-Angle & Pelagics):
- Wide-angle reefscapes, wrecks, and large marine life.
- Essential for pushing your strobes far out to the sides and slightly forward, which is critical for preventing backscatter (light bouncing off suspended silt directly into your lens).
- Creates more water drag while swimming and takes up more space in your luggage.
